Yes, e-mail marketing still works!
Stats prove it!
On average, businesses who send email campaigns see 25.1% of sales originate from those email campaigns.
E-mail marketing is a cheap, fast and effective marketing channel. (If you don't have an email marketing system in place, we suggest MailChimp. It's free.)
If you do have a list...even a small database, you can increase sales with email marketing. (Newsletters, birthday discounts, flash sales, etc.)
1. SUBJECT LINES...
When you send an email, you want it to be opened, right? One of the best ways to accomplish that is to make the subject line relevant...
"Anna, we have the perfect gift for your little one..." "James, Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas...Here's a gift for you..." "Hope this your best birthday ever, Julie!"
2. MOBILE DEVICES...
Optimize your emails for mobile devices! If they aren't mobile-friendly, you'll lose 56% of potential sales. (Another reason we suggest MailChimp. They're already mobile friendly.)
3. FIRST SENTENCE…
Make sure the first sentence won't turn off the recipient. Remember, they can see that preview before they open the email. Make it something that will entice them to open.
4. CONTENT...
Keep it short and relevant. Once it's opened, you'll want them to click-thru to your product or service. Give them the incentive to do so and provide an obvious link or button to click.
